Dues Structure

Regular Membership

  • Paid annually – $165
  • Paid quarterly – $45

Life Membership

  • Paid annually – $82.50
  • No Quarterly option

Initiation Fees

  • Local initiation fee – $50 – one time fee applies to all new members
  • Federation (AFM) initiation fee – $65 – one time fee applies only if not already a member of another AFM Local

Membership in the Indianapolis Musicians makes you part of a strong community of musicians united in the cause of advancing the lives of musicians.

Contracts…Legal Protection for the Professional Musician:

Customized Contracts are available at Local 3 for most kinds of performing and recording engagements. Contract enforcement is handled through the Union Privilege Legal Service.

Directory of Musical Groups:

Local 3 provides a list of organized groups and soloists which is available on the Web, mailed or faxed to inquiring potential employers. As a member, you can benefit from an optional listing in this directory.

International Musician Newspaper:

Every month, members receive the highly respected music industry publication of the AFM, THE INTERNATIONAL MUSICIAN. This newspaper covers the players, the issues and the innovations of the international music scene as well as Federation news and commentary. Four times a year, you’ll also receive the Indianapolis Musicians newsletter.

Rehearsal Hall:

The Local 3 hall is available for members, evenings and weekends for rehearsals and recitals.

Instrument and Equipment Insurance:

Covers instruments and equipment for theft and damage at home and on the road.

Toll-free Road Help:

When you’re on the road, far from home, and a gig goes bad – – The Federation’s Emergency Traveling Assistance Program is there to help bail you out.
